Employee alleged retaliation and PAGA causes of action against California-wide construction employer after being wrongfully terminated within a short periodĀ of reporting his inability to take meal and rest breaks at work. Employee alleged he began to be harassed immediately after reporting his meal and rest break issues. Upon receiving and reviewing employee’s payroll records it became apparent that construction corporation employer was automatically deducting thirty minutes from employee and similarly situated aggrieved construction workers’ pay. As a result, PAGA causes of action, incl. meal and rest break, minimum wage, overtime and records violations, were alleged. Case settled.
